  • I found out while at a Wildlife Center in NC that these are called Piebald deer and not albino! The name comes from Pie meaning (mixed up) and bald meaning (having a white spot). Piebald deer are less than 1 percent of the white tail deer population of deer. It is caused from a genetic disorder. Most of the Piebald deer have short legs (just like this one's back left leg) They also have a bowing nose (Called a Roman nose) and a arching spine (scoliosis). An Albino deer has a pink nose, eyes and pinkish hooves but the Piebald has brown eyes, nose and black hooves! edit edit

  • I just want to bring her home and take care of her but know that is not the right thing to do! She does have the curved spine and bad back leg.
